This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

दुरन्तेयं किल विषयविषमविषविषूचिका । यदि न चिकित्स्यते तदतितरां नरकनगरनिकरफलानुबन्धिनी तत्तत्करोति । यत्र शितासिशतपात उत्पलताडनम् । अग्निदाहो हिमावसेको ।ऽङ्गविकर्तनं चन्दनचक्रकरचना । घूर्णद्वातान्तः परिपेषोऽङ्गपरिमालनम् । अनवरतानलज्वालाविचलितचामरनाराचनिकरनिपातो निदाघविनोदनधारागृहशीकरवर्षणम् । शिरश्छेदः सुखनिद्रा । मूकीकरणं पाटवमुद्रा महानुपचयः ॥ १५ ॥
