nanu duḥkhāntarakāraṇatvātso'pi prārabdhakarmāntareṇa prāpyatāmiti cet, na | sthitaprajñasya bhramopādānājñānanāśena bhramāsambhavaāttajjanyaduḥkhaprāpakaprārabdhābhāvāt | yathākathaṃciddehayātrāmātranirvāhakaprārabdhakarmaphalasya bhramābhāve'pi bādhitānuvṛttyopapatteriti vistareṇāgre vakṣyate |

tathā sukheṣu sattvapariṇāmarūpaprītyātmakacittavṛttiviśeṣeṣu trividheṣu prārabdhapuṇyakarmaprāpiteṣu vigataspṛha āgāmitajjātīyasukhaspṛhārahitaḥ | spṛhā hi nāma sukhānubhavakāle tajjātīyasukhasya kāraṇaṃ dharmamananuṣṭhāya vṛthaiva tadākāṅkṣārūpā tāmasī cittavṛttirbhrāntireva | cāvivekina eva jāyate | na hi kāraṇābhāve kāryaṃ bhavitumarhati | ato yathā sati kāraṇe kāryaṃ bhūditi vṛthākāṅkṣārūpa udvego vivekino na sambhavati tathaivāsati kāraṇe kāryaṃ bhūyāditi vṛthākāṅkṣārūpā tṛṣṇātmikā spṛhāpi nopapadyate prārabdhakarmaṇaḥ sukhamātraprāpakatvāt |

harṣātmikā cittavṛttiḥ spṛhāśabdenoktā | sāpi bhrāntireva | aho dhanyo'haṃ yasya mamedṛśaṃ sukhamupasthitaṃ ko mayā tulastribhuvane kena vopāyena mamedṛśaṃ sukhaṃ na vicchidyetetyevamātmikotphullatārūpā tāmasī cittavṛttiḥ | ataevoktaṃ bhāṣye nāgnirivendhanādyādhāne yaḥ sukhānyanuvivardhate sa vigataspṛhaḥ iti | vakṣyati ca na prahṛṣyetpriyaṃ prāpya nodvijetprāpya cāpriyam [Gītā 5.20] iti | sāpi na vivekinaḥ sambhavati bhrāntitvāt |

tathā vītarāgabhayakrodhaḥ | rāgaḥ śobhanādhyāsanibandhano viṣayeṣu rañjanātmakaścittavṛttiviśeṣo'tyantābhiniveśarūpaḥ | rāgaviṣayasya nāśake samupasthite tannivāraṇāsāmarthyamātmano manyamānasya dainyātmakaścittavṛttiviśeṣo bhayam | evaṃ rāgaviṣayavināśake samupasthite tannivāraṇasāmarthyamātmano manyamānasyābhijvalanātmakaścittavṛttiviśeṣaḥ krodhaḥ | te sarve viparyayarūpatvādvigatā yasmātsa tathā | etādṛśo munirmananaśīlaḥ saṃnyāsī sthitaprajña ucyate | evaṃlakṣaṇaḥ sthitadhīḥ svānubhavaprakaṭanena śiṣyaśikṣārthamanudveganispṛhatvādivācaḥ
