sarvauṣadhakṣame deha utpanno vyādhiḥ sukhasādhyaḥ sukhopāyaḥ, tathā kālenālpena sādhyate| sarvāṇyauṣadhāni yaḥ kṣamate sahate tīkṣṇmadhyamṛdurūpāṇi nānādeśajāni śamanāni tathā śodhanarūpāṇi tathā viṣakṣārādīni| yūnaḥ-vayasyasya, taruṇasyetyarthaḥ| puṃso-na striyāḥ| puṃgrahaṇaṃ strīnivṛttyartham| yatastasyāḥ sarvadā bhīrutvamabuddhimattvaṃ ca, ato yathoktānurūpaguṇābhāvaḥ| tu yasmāttīkṣṇoṣṇauṣadhāni na sahate, saukumāryādiyogāt| jitātmano'lolupasya, jita ātmā yena, viṣayābhilāṣaṃ pariharataḥ| amarmago-na marmasthaḥ, marmāṇi-śirohṛdayabastiprabhṛtīni, teṣu gacchatīti marmagaḥ, na marmago'marmagaḥ, hṛtkaṇṭhādipīḍākaraṇāsamarthaḥ| alpahetvagrarūparūpa iti| hetuścāgrarūpaṃ ca rūpaṃ ca tāni hetvagrarūparūpāṇi, alpāni hetvagrarūparūpāṇi yasya sa tathāvidhaḥ| heturnidānam, agrarūpaṃ-pūrvarūpam, rūpaṃ-lakṣaṇam, etānyalpāni yasya| anupadrava iti| na vidyate upadravo yasya, utpannasya vyādheranantaraṃ jāyate yo'nyo vyādhiḥ, na tallakṣaṇabhūto'pradhānaḥ, na yathāsvalakṣaṇaḥ, tadupakramanirodhakaḥ, sa upadravaḥ| tathā cāgamaḥ- "vyādherupari yo vyādhirbhavatyuttarakālajaḥ| upakramavighātī ca sa hyupadrava ucyate||" iti| atulyadūṣyadeśartuprakṛtiriti| dūṣyaśca deśaśca ṛtuśca prakṛtiśca dūṣyadeśartuprakṛtayaḥ, atulyā dūṣyadeśartuprakṛtayo yasya| atulyāḥ-na sadṛśāḥ| yathā-dūṣye medomajjādau, anūpadeśe, śītartau, āturo vātaprakṛtiḥ, tasya kupitaṃ pittaṃ sukhasādhyamiti| atulyadūṣyo yathā-śleṣmaṇā śītena raktamuṣṇaṃ dūṣitam| atulyadeśo vyādhiryathā-anūpadeśe pittasambhūtaḥ| atulyarturyathā-śaradi kaphodbhavaḥ| atulyaprakṛtiryathā-pittaprakṛteḥ śleṣmodbhavo vyādhiḥ| nanvatulyadūṣyadeśartuprakṛtitvādasau kṛcchrasādhyo yāpyo prāptaḥ, na sukhasādhyaḥ, anekasukhopakramasādhyatvāt| yato dūṣyādīnāmatulyatvātparasparamanya evopakramaḥ| ekasukhopakramaḥ sukhasādhyo vyādhiḥ| ata eva sādhyayāpyaparityājyā mehāḥ śleṣmapittavātotthāḥ (hṛ.ni.a.10/6)- "samāsamakriyatayā mahātyayatayāpi ca" ityevaṃ nirdiśati| atrocyate| tathāprabhāvatvātpramehākhyasya vyādheḥ, yaduta śleṣmapramehaḥ samakriyatvātsādhyaḥ, pittaprameho viṣamakriyatvādyāpyaḥ, mahātyayatvācca vātapramehaḥ pratyākhyeyaḥ| kiñca tulyadūṣyadeśartuprakṛtitvānmahārambho niṣpratyanīko vyādhirjāyate, ato'sau na sukhasādhyaḥ| kutracidvyādhau tulyadūṣyādirapi sukhasādhyatvena jyāyān| tathā ca granthaḥ- "jvare tulyartudoṣatvaṃ pramehe tulyadūṣyatā| raktagulme purāṇatvaṃ sukhasādhyatvahetavaḥ||" pādasampadīti| bhiṣagādīnāṃ caturṇāṃ pādānāṃ sampatsamṛddhiḥ, tasyāṃ satyāṃ, aṅgacatuṣṭaye paripūrṇe sati| graheṣvanuguṇeṣviti| grahāḥ-sūryādayaḥ, teṣvanuguṇeṣvanukūlarāśisthiteṣu śobhanasthānagateṣu satsu| ekadoṣamārga iti| doṣaśca mārgaśca doṣamārgam, ekaṃ doṣamārgaṃ yasya sa tathoktaḥ| doṣo-vātādiḥ| mārgastrividhaḥ śākhādirvakṣyamāṇo bāhyābhyantaramadhyabhedena| tenaikena vātādīnāmanyatamena doṣeṇa yo jāto na dvābhyāṃ tribhirvā, tathaikenāpi mārgeṇa bāhyena madhyenābhyantareṇa jātaḥ| navo-na jaraṭhaḥ, acirotpanna ityarthaḥ| yasmādvatsarātītā vyādhayo'sādhyāḥ| sa tathāvidho vyādhiḥ sukhaḥ-sukhena sādhyate| tathā ca granthaḥ (saṃ.sū.a.2, ca.ni.a.8)- "sukhasādhyaḥ sukhopāyaḥ kālenālpena sādhyate" iti|
