Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. माया ह्येषा मया सृष्टा यन्मां पश्यसि नारद ।
सर्वभूतगुणैर्युक्तं नैवं त्वं ज्ञातुमर्हसि ।
मयैतत्कथितं सम्यक्तव मूर्तिचतुष्टयम् ॥ ४३ ॥
