The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

हे हंस मद्गुबककाकशरारुसारे मा त्वं सरस्यविरतं कुरु वासमेकः ।
आपद्यपीह समशीलवयोवचोभिः श्रेयःफला भवति संगतिरात्मवर्गैः ॥ ४२ ॥

he haṃsa madgubakakākaśarārusāre mā tvaṃ sarasyavirataṃ kuru vāsamekaḥ |
āpadyapīha samaśīlavayovacobhiḥ śreyaḥphalā bhavati saṃgatirātmavargaiḥ || 42 ||

Don't you, O harmless swan, says one, reside with the malicious water fowls and birds of prey, in one and the same lake; it is better that thou dost remain with thy own kind, that may assist thee in distress.
