Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. युधिष्ठिरं त्वं परिसान्त्वयस्व राज्ये चैनं स्थापयस्वाभिपूज्य ।
त्वया पृष्टः किमहमन्यद्वदेयमेतत्कृत्वा कृतकृत्योऽसि राजन् ॥ १५ ॥
