yasmādevaṃ tasmātnādatta iti | prayojako'pi san prabhuḥ kasyacitpāpaṃ sukṛtaṃ ca naivādatte na bhajate | tatra hetuḥ vibhuḥ paripūrṇaḥ | āptakāma ityarthaḥ | yadi hi svārthakāmanayā kārayettarhi tathā syāt | na tvetadasti | āptakāmasyaivācintyanijamāyayā tattatpūrvakarmānusāreṇa pravartakatvāt |
nanu bhaktānanugṛhṇato'bhaktānnigṛhṇataśca vaiṣamyopalambhātkathamāptakāmatvamiti ? ata āha ajñāneneti | nigraho'pi daṇḍarūpo'nugraha eveti | evamajñānena sarvatra samaḥ parameśvara ityevaṃbhūtaṃ jñānamāvṛtam | tena hetunā jantavo jīvā muhyanti | bhagavati vaiṣamyaṃ manyanta ityarthaḥ ||15||

audāsīnyamātre'yaṃ gandhādidṛṣṭānto na tvicchāyā abhāve tasyāḥ | so'kāmayata iti śrutatvāt | tarhi jīvāstaṃ viṣamaṃ kuto vadanti, tatrāha ajñāneneti | anāditadvaimukhyenājñānena jīvānāṃ nityamapi jñānamāvṛtaṃ tirohitam | tena hetunā jantavo jīvā muhyanti | samamapi taṃ vimūḍhā viṣamaṃ vadanti na vijñā ityarthaḥ | āha caivaṃ sūtrakāraḥ vaiṣamyanairghṛṇye na sāpekṣatvāttathā hi darśayati [Vs 2.1.35], na karmāvibhāgāditi cennānāditvāt[Vs 2.1.36] iti ||15||
