This Sanskrit edition of the Moksopaya. It is a large philosophical text dealing with “the science of liberation”. Similar to the Yoga-vasistha in content, the Mokshopaya-shastra was likely its predecessor, said to contain 30,000 shlokas (metrical verses). One of the core philosophies of the texts teaches the non-existence of cognitive objects; while holding such a view leads to an attitude of dispassion towards worldly matters.

दामव्यालकटजन्मान्तरवर्णनं नाम सर्गः ।
त्रयोदशः सर्गः ।
वसिष्ठः ।
अतः प्रबोधाय तव वच्मि राम महामते ।
दामव्यालकटन्यायो मा तेऽस्त्विति न लीलया ॥ १ ॥ अविवेकानुसन्धानाच्चित्तमापदमीदृशीम् ।
अनन्ततरदुःखाय परिगृह्णाति लीलया ॥ २ ॥
