Bodhighara (Bodhigaraya)—This is an important monument belonging to the monastery complex, a building erected for the Bodhi-tree during the second monastic phase after Kasyapa. The basic plan of this bodhi-ghara (Bodhi-tree Shrine) consists of a circular outer stone wall, the brick-built platform the center, and the square pit of stone slabs for the Bodhi-free. The main entrance faces the north. At the base of the flight of steps to the right could be seen a 'padoniya' where water was stored to wash the feet. Two periods of construction could be identified in this instance. The circular stone wall and the lime stone remaining of the square platform belong to the first phase. The brick paving in the center platform and the polished stone slabs on the square pit belong to the second phase.

Bodhigarh—This is an important monument belonging to the monastery complex. A building built for the Bodhi in the second monastic period that followed the Kasyapa era. The basic plan includes the rounded back wall made of granite, the brick platform in the middle, and the square crater surrounded by stone slabs for the bodhi in the middle. The main entrance is facing north. At the foot of the steps, on the right side, you can see a footwell where water has been collected to wash the feet. Two main construction phases can be identified from this Bodhigara. The remains of the round stone rampart and the central equi-square platform are of the earliest phase of limestone. The brickwork on the central platform and the polished granite slabs surrounding it and the central square crater can be identified as elements belonging to the second construction phase.

Bodhikarai—This is the main monument for the Achiram block. It is a building erected for Bodhi during the Second Achirama Period which followed the time of Kasyappan. Its basic plan consists of a brick platform in the middle of a circular outbuilding built of black stone and a square surrounded by stones for Bodhi in the middle. Its main gate faces north. At the base of its staircase can be found a gantry to collect water for foot washing on the south side. Two major construction opportunities can be identified through this tutorial. An abundance of limestone on the nascent platform amid the circular stone wall is evidence of an early occasion. The brick-paved area on the central platform and the central and surrounding niches and the polished black slab surrounding it are found to belong to the second period of construction.

In the fifth century, King Kassapa I transferred the administrative centre from Anuradhapura to Sigiriya in order to  rule from there. The on-site museum displays various artifacts and paintings found at the Sigiriya rock.
