The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 10.25

तत्सौम्य राज्यं यदि पैतृकं त्वं स्नेहात्पितुर्नेच्छसि विक्रमेण ।
न च क्षमं मर्षयितुं मतिस्ते भुक्त्वार्धमस्मद्विषयस्य शीघ्रम् ॥ २५ ॥

tatsaumya rājyaṃ yadi paitṛkaṃ tvaṃ snehātpiturnecchasi vikrameṇa |
na ca kṣamaṃ marṣayituṃ matiste bhuktvārdhamasmadviṣayasya śīghram || 25 ||

'If therefore, gentle youth, through thy love for thy father thou desirest not thy paternal kingdom in thy generosity,—then at any rate thy choice must not be excused,—accepting forthwith one half of my kingdom.
