Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. यथा हि लक्ष्यं निहतं धनुश्च सज्यं कृतं तेन तथा प्रसह्य ।
यथा च भाषन्ति परस्परं ते छन्ना ध्रुवं ते प्रचरन्ति पार्थाः ॥ १३ ॥
