This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 78.38

एतं पुत्रं पूर्वं शैलवने मृगान्विते ।
सपुत्रा अद्य नेत्रेहि पश्यति वरकुंजरं ॥ ३८ ॥

etaṃ putraṃ pūrvaṃ śailavane mṛgānvite |
saputrā adya netrehi paśyati varakuṃjaraṃ || 38 ||

To-day she has her son and with her own eyes sees him, a noble elephant, as before among the crags and woods, the haunts of wild beasts. (38)
