This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 17.75

सा दानि कुञ्जरवराश्वसमाप्तयोधा नाराचप्रासशरशक्तिविचित्रवर्मा ।
सेना कहिं वसति कं वा गुणं करोति या शाक्यपुङ्गवं न बुध्यति निष्क्रमन्तं ॥ ७५ ॥

sā dāni kuñjaravarāśvasamāptayodhā nārācaprāsaśaraśaktivicitravarmā |
senā kahiṃ vasati kaṃ vā guṇaṃ karoti yā śākyapuṅgavaṃ na budhyati niṣkramantaṃ || 75 ||

“Where now is that brave array of warriors with their elephants and horses, and brightly armed with arrows, darts and spears? What boots it now? For it does not heed the departure of the champion of the Shakyans. (75)
