This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 11.39

तद भृङ्गनीलं सुवर्णमनिलजवकेशरिं समुद्यतपादं ।
प्रतिलभति तुरगरतनं सुकृतकुशलसंचयो राजा ॥ ३९ ॥

tada bhṛṅganīlaṃ suvarṇamanilajavakeśariṃ samudyatapādaṃ |
pratilabhati turagaratanaṃ sukṛtakuśalasaṃcayo rājā || 39 ||

Through his store of merit acquired by good deeds well done, the king wins also the treasure of the well-trained horse, that is black as a bee, with a golden mane streaming in the wind. (39)
