Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. This portion also contains the Bhagavad-Gita. Alternative titles: Mahābhārata (महाभारत).

Verse 5.25.14

कृताञ्जलिः शरणं वः प्रपद्ये कथं स्वस्ति स्यात्कुरुसृञ्जयानाम् ।
न ह्येव ते वचनं वासुदेवो धनंजयो वा जातु किंचिन्न कुर्यात् ॥ १४ ॥

kṛtāñjaliḥ śaraṇaṃ vaḥ prapadye kathaṃ svasti syātkurusṛñjayānām |
na hyeva te vacanaṃ vāsudevo dhanaṃjayo vā jātu kiṃcinna kuryāt || 14 ||
