Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. भीम उवाच ।
त्वमेव जानीहि महानुभाव राज्ञः प्रवृत्तिं भरतर्षभस्य ।
अहं हि यद्यर्जुन यामि तत्र वक्ष्यन्ति मां भीत इति प्रवीराः ॥ ६२ ॥
