Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ततः क्रुद्धोऽब्रवीत्कृष्णः पार्थं सप्रणयं तदा ।
अत्यद्भुतमिदं पार्थ तव पश्यामि संयुगे ।
अतिशेते हि यत्र त्वा द्रोणपुत्रोऽद्य भारत ॥ १२३ ॥

tataḥ kruddho'bravītkṛṣṇaḥ pārthaṃ sapraṇayaṃ tadā |
atyadbhutamidaṃ pārtha tava paśyāmi saṃyuge |
