The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). idhma iti samudāyasyopadeśāt pañcadaśādārumidhmaṃ sakṛdevādadhāti /
'abhighārye'ti kalpāntaraṃ darśapūrṇamāsavadittyuttaraṃ paridhisandhimanvavahṛtya dakṣiṇaṃ paridhisandhimanvavahṛtyetyevamāditā vidhāne tūṣṇīmiti mantroccāraṇapratiṣaidha- /
tena"prajāpatiṃ manasā jhyāya"nnityaitadapi na bhavati /
manasā mantroccāraṇaṃ tatra vidhīyata iti kṛtvā kāmyānāmādhārakalpānāmihāpravṛttiḥ prakṛtiviṣayatvātteṣām /
kecit sruveṇa pūrvamāghāramicchanti /
anye punaḥ ubhāvapi darvyaiva vedopabhṛtorabhāvāt upayamanamapi na bhavati /

sa ca khādiraḥ pālāśo pañcadaśasaṅkhyākor'thalakṣaṇasthaulyāyāmaḥ, idhmanāmadheyāt, śraute darśanācca /

yugapaccādhānam,'idhmam'ityekavacanena samudāyasya vivakṣitatvāt /
tacca tūṣṇīm, mantrasyāvidhānāt //


anye-'tūṣṇām'ityārabhyedamekaṃ sūtraṃ ka-tvā hiraṇyakeśināṃ yomantraḥ'ayaṃ ta idhmaḥ iti , saḥ'anuktamanyato grāhyam'iti nyāyena nopasaṃhartavya iti vyācakṣate /
teṣāṃ paitṛkeṣu samantapariṣecanaṃ samantrakaṃ syāt /

kiñca athājyabhāgau juhoti'(āpa.gṛ.2-6) ityājyabhāgau spaṣṭameva darvīhomau;tatsāhacaryādāghārāvapi tathā /

atra sruveṇa dhruvāyā ājyamādāya āsīno'nyamāghāramāghārayan (āpa.śrau.2-12-7)'juhvehīti juhūmādatte'(āpa.śrau.2-13-2) ityādiṣu sarveṣu āghāradharmeṣu tanmantreṣu ca prāpteṣu'āghārāvāghārayati'iti parisaṅkhyātham /

dharmātideśānapekṣatvāt, svataśca nāmno dharmalakṣaṇāyā ayuktatvāt, āghārayatītyatra ca sati gatyantare parisaṅkhyāyā anyāyyatvāt, āghāravyatiriktadharmaparisaṅkhyāne cātideśavaiphalyāt, parisaṅkhyāyāśca mantraparisaṅkhyāne'pi sāmarthyāt tūṣṇīṃpadasya vaiyarthyāpatteḥ'darśapūrṇamāsavad'iti padaṃ vyarthamiti svenaivoktatvāt,'āghārāvāghārayati'ti ca padayoratideśaparisaṅkhyārthatve homavidhāyakaśabdābhāvāt, tadbhāvāya ca parisaṅkhyātyāge sarveṣāmāghāradharmāṇāṃ śṣṭācāraviruddhānuṣṭhānāpātāt, ājyabhāgādīnāmapītthamatideśe abhyupeye tatrāpyaiṣṭikājyabhāgādidharmāṇāṃ sarveṣāmanuṣṭhānaprasaṅgācca /
tasmāt pūrve eva vyākhyāne suṣṭhu /

yato'pūrvāvevāghārau, yataśca'samidabhāvaśca, agnihotravarjam (āpa.pa.3-8,9) iti paribhāṣā, ata eva āghārasamidho rnivṛttiḥ /

anye kurvanti /
tasmin pakṣe paridhinidhānānantaram;śraute tathā dṛṣṭatvāt /
anūyājasamit anuyādābhāvādeva nivṛttā /
tenedhmasannahanaṃ paridhibhissahāṣṭādaśadhā, viśātidhā na punarekaviṃśatidhā //5//
