The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 13.69

तन्मा कृथाः शोकमुपेहि शान्तिं मा भून्महिम्ना तव मार मानः ।
विश्रम्भितुं न क्षममध्रुवा श्रीश्चले पदे किं पदमभ्युपैषि ॥ ६९ ॥

tanmā kṛthāḥ śokamupehi śāntiṃ mā bhūnmahimnā tava māra mānaḥ |
viśrambhituṃ na kṣamamadhruvā śrīścale pade kiṃ padamabhyupaiṣi || 69 ||

'Give not way, then, to grief but put on calm; let not thy greatness, O Mara, be mixed with pride; it is not well to be confident,—fortune is unstable,—why dost thou accept a position on a tottering base?'
