The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 5.13

इह चेदहमीदृशः स्वयं सन् विजुगुप्सेय परं तथास्वभावम् ।
न भवेत्सदृशं हि तत्क्षमं वा परमं धर्ममिमं विजानतो मे ॥ १३ ॥

iha cedahamīdṛśaḥ svayaṃ san vijugupseya paraṃ tathāsvabhāvam |
na bhavetsadṛśaṃ hi tatkṣamaṃ vā paramaṃ dharmamimaṃ vijānato me || 13 ||

'If I here, being such myself, should feel disgust for another who has such a nature, it would not be worthy or right in me who know this highest duty.'
