This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 102.6

यं च प्रकम्पयन्तो वसुधां जायेसि बहुजनहिताय ।
जातो पादानि सप्त क्रमेसि दशशतरस्मिसगोत्र तं प्रियं मे ॥ ६ ॥

yaṃ ca prakampayanto vasudhāṃ jāyesi bahujanahitāya |
jāto pādāni sapta kramesi daśaśatarasmisagotra taṃ priyaṃ me || 6 ||

Glad am I, O kinsman of the sun, that thou madest the earth to tremble when thou wast born for the sake of the welfare of men, and that after being born thou didst take seven strides. (6)
