This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.163

एषो हि लेनं भविष्यति सर्वलोके त्राणं च द्वीपं शरणं परायणं ।
अकरित्वा नरमरु च प्रसादं घोरं व्रजन्ति निरयं अवीचिं ॥ १६३ ॥

eṣo hi lenaṃ bhaviṣyati sarvaloke trāṇaṃ ca dvīpaṃ śaraṇaṃ parāyaṇaṃ |
akaritvā naramaru ca prasādaṃ ghoraṃ vrajanti nirayaṃ avīciṃ || 163 ||

“For he will become a shelter for the whole world, a protection, an island, a refuge, and a rest. Those men and devas who put not their trust in him pass to the terrible hell of Avici. (163)
