The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.214.1

श्रीवाल्मीकिरुवाच ।
इत्युक्तवत्यथ मुनौ नभसो ननाद वर्षामृताभ्रमिव दुन्दुभिरामरो द्राक् ।
शुक्लीकृताखिलककुब्वदना तुषारवर्षोपमा भुवि पपात च पुष्पवृष्टिः ॥ १ ॥

śrīvālmīkiruvāca |
ityuktavatyatha munau nabhaso nanāda varṣāmṛtābhramiva dundubhirāmaro drāk |
śuklīkṛtākhilakakubvadanā tuṣāravarṣopamā bhuvi papāta ca puṣpavṛṣṭiḥ || 1 ||

Valmiki related:—As the sage had finished saying these things, or so far, the celestials sounded their trumpets from heaven, as the clouds resounded in the rainy skies, with showers of nectarious rain drops (on the earth below). The face of the sky was whitened on all sides, as by drifts of snowfalls in hoary winter, and the surface of the earth was covered by rain drops, dropping like showers of flowers.
