The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.93.41

कायोऽयमचिरापायो बुद्बुदोऽम्बुनिधाविव ।
स्फुरन्नेव पुरोन्तर्द्धि याति दीपशिखा यथा ॥ ४१ ॥

kāyo'yamacirāpāyo budbudo'mbunidhāviva |
sphuranneva purontarddhi yāti dīpaśikhā yathā || 41 ||

The frail body being subject to instant extinction, likens a bubble of water in the ocean of eternity; it resembles also the flame of lamp, which is put out in a moment, while it burns vividly before us.
