The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जीर्णा जीवितजम्बालजरच्छफरिकामतिः ।
कायं द्रुतगताऽऽदातुं जरेच्छति बृहद्वकी ॥ ४० ॥

jīrṇā jīvitajambālajaracchapharikāmatiḥ |
kāyaṃ drutagatā''dātuṃ jarecchati bṛhadvakī || 40 ||

And this body which is subject to sickness and decay, with its mind as fickle as a shrimp fish, is hourly watched upon by inexorable death, as the old crane lurks after the skimming fish for his prey.
