The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.34.29

सर्गोऽवयववद्भाति सर्व एव परे शिवे ।
एवं तदुपमां विद्धि कार्यकारणवद्यथा ॥ २९ ॥

sargo'vayavavadbhāti sarva eva pare śive |
evaṃ tadupamāṃ viddhi kāryakāraṇavadyathā || 29 ||

The creation is a component part, of the unknown body of Brahma, as the leaves and branches are those of the tree; and it contains both its cause and effect of the other.
