The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.22.36

देहे यद्यप्यशेषेऽस्मिन्बहिरन्तश्च वेदनम् ।
विद्यते तत्तथाप्यत्र शुक्रेऽस्ति घनवासना ॥ ३६ ॥

dehe yadyapyaśeṣe'sminbahirantaśca vedanam |
vidyate tattathāpyatra śukre'sti ghanavāsanā || 36 ||

The body is full of sensibility, both in its inner as well as outer parts; but it is in the viscera of the heart, where our desires (vasana) and egoism (abhimana) are deeply seated.
