The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
आसीद्भगीरथो नाम राजा परमधार्मिकः ।
भुवः समुद्रयुक्ताया मण्डलीतिलकोपमः ॥ २ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
āsīdbhagīratho nāma rājā paramadhārmikaḥ |
bhuvaḥ samudrayuktāyā maṇḍalītilakopamaḥ || 2 ||

Vasishtha replied:—The prince Bhagiratha was a personage of eminent virtues, and was distinguished as a crowning mark (Tilaka), over all countries of this terraqueous earth and its seas.
