The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मनस्तया मनस्यन्तरहंकृत्याप्यहंकृतौ ।
रूढं संविदि संवित्त्या चित्ते चित्ततयोत्थितम् ॥ १३ ॥

manastayā manasyantarahaṃkṛtyāpyahaṃkṛtau |
rūḍhaṃ saṃvidi saṃvittyā citte cittatayotthitam || 13 ||

It is the thinking principle of the thoughtful mind, and the ego of our egoism; it is the consciousness of the conscious soul, and the sensible heart.
