The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जराजरठतां यातं स्वदेहसमपुत्रकम् ।
जीर्णंप्रायरसश्वभ्रतमालतरुसंनिभम् ॥ १८ ॥

jarājaraṭhatāṃ yātaṃ svadehasamaputrakam |
jīrṇaṃprāyarasaśvabhratamālatarusaṃnibham || 18 ||

Gadhi found his body worn out with age, and grown as thin and lean as a dry leaf, and as a withered tamala tree growing in a mountain cave; which for want of moisture soon dwindles into decrepitude.
