The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 4.29.18

शरीरैकार्थिनां तेषां भीतानां मरणादपि ।
अल्पसत्त्वतया मूर्घ्नि कृतमेव परैः पदम् ॥ १८ ॥

śarīraikārthināṃ teṣāṃ bhītānāṃ maraṇādapi |
alpasattvatayā mūrghni kṛtameva paraiḥ padam || 18 ||

These cowards wishing to preserve their bodies from the hands of death, became as powerless as to rest satisfied with having the feet of their enemies set up on their heads. (I.e. they fell at the feet of their foes to spare their lives.
