Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. यच्च मामात्थ देव त्वं पाण्डवं फल्गुनं प्रति ।
व्येतु संतापजं दुःखं तव भास्कर मानसम् ।
अर्जुनं प्रति मां चैव विजेष्यामि रणेऽर्जुनम् ॥ ७ ॥

yacca māmāttha deva tvaṃ pāṇḍavaṃ phalgunaṃ prati |
vyetu saṃtāpajaṃ duḥkhaṃ tava bhāskara mānasam |
arjunaṃ prati māṃ caiva vijeṣyāmi raṇe'rjunam || 7 ||
