Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. यच्च किंचिन्मया लोके दृष्टं स्थावरजङ्गमम् ।
तदपश्यमहं सर्वं तस्य कुक्षौ महात्मनः ।
फलाहारः प्रविचरन्कृत्स्नं जगदिदं तदा ॥ १०९ ॥
