Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. एवमुक्तस्तु राज्ञा स नारदः प्रत्युवाच ह ।
आविक्षितं महाराज वाचा संजीवयन्निव ॥ १७ ॥

evamuktastu rājñā sa nāradaḥ pratyuvāca ha |
āvikṣitaṃ mahārāja vācā saṃjīvayanniva || 17 ||
