Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ततो राज्यं प्रदास्यामि शक्रायामिततेजसे ।
देवताः स्थापयिष्यामि स्वेषु स्थानेषु नारद ।
बलिं चैव करिष्यामि पातालतलवासिनम् ॥ ७६ ॥

tato rājyaṃ pradāsyāmi śakrāyāmitatejase |
devatāḥ sthāpayiṣyāmi sveṣu sthāneṣu nārada |
baliṃ caiva kariṣyāmi pātālatalavāsinam || 76 ||
