This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 102.10

अवहाय महीं च ज्ञातयो अथ रत्नानि महाय सप्त वरा ।
जातीमरणस्य कासि अन्तं दशशतरस्मिसगोत्र तं प्रियं मे ॥ १० ॥

avahāya mahīṃ ca jñātayo atha ratnāni mahāya sapta varā |
jātīmaraṇasya kāsi antaṃ daśaśatarasmisagotra taṃ priyaṃ me || 10 ||

Glad am I, O kinsman of the sun, that, leaving thy queen and thy folk and renouncing the seven fair treasures, thou didst make an end of birth and death. (10)
