This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 34.151

ततो जातमात्रो कुले शाकियानां अतिक्रम्य धीरो पदानीह सप्त ।
समोलोकयित्वा दिशा ऊहसासि अयं दानिम् एको भवो पश्चिमो त्ति ॥ १५१ ॥

tato jātamātro kule śākiyānāṃ atikramya dhīro padānīha sapta |
samolokayitvā diśā ūhasāsi ayaṃ dānim eko bhavo paścimo tti || 151 ||

Then as soon as he was born in a family of the Shakyans, the Wise One took seven mighty strides. Scanning the regions of the world he laughed aloud, and said, “This, at length, is my very last existence (151)
