This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 34.142

संप्रतिजातो सुगतो समेहि पादेहि धरणिम् अवतिष्ठे ।
सप्त च पदानि अगमा सर्वां च दिशां विलोकेति ॥ १४२ ॥

saṃpratijāto sugato samehi pādehi dharaṇim avatiṣṭhe |
sapta ca padāni agamā sarvāṃ ca diśāṃ viloketi || 142 ||

May the Sugata just now born stand on the earth with even feet. He has taken seven strides and scanned all the regions. (142)
