The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यथा केशोण्ड्रकं व्योम्नि भाति व्यामलचक्षुषः ।
तथैवेयं जगद्भान्तिर्भात्यनात्मविदोऽम्बरे ॥ ३१ ॥

yathā keśoṇḍrakaṃ vyomni bhāti vyāmalacakṣuṣaḥ |
tathaiveyaṃ jagadbhāntirbhātyanātmavido'mbare || 31 ||

As spectres and dissolving views appear in the air, before the sight of the dimsighted; so doth this shadow of the world appear as substance, to the view of the unspiritual myopist.
