The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.153.18

भ्रान्तिमात्रमिदं चेत्स्याद्भ्रान्तेः किं नाम कारणम् ।
द्रष्टा मन्ता च को भ्रान्तेः कारणं वा क्व कीदृशम् ॥ १८ ॥

bhrāntimātramidaṃ cetsyādbhrānteḥ kiṃ nāma kāraṇam |
draṣṭā mantā ca ko bhrānteḥ kāraṇaṃ vā kva kīdṛśam || 18 ||

The conception of matter and material bodies, is a fallacy only; but what can be the cause of this error, but delusion of the sight and mind.
