The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.102.36

इदं न किंचिद्भ्रान्तिर्वा खं चेति ज्ञस्तु वेत्ति यः ।
सोऽवासनः कर्मवात्याः कथं साधयति क्रियाः ॥ ३६ ॥

idaṃ na kiṃcidbhrāntirvā khaṃ ceti jñastu vetti yaḥ |
so'vāsanaḥ karmavātyāḥ kathaṃ sādhayati kriyāḥ || 36 ||

The wise man that has nothing to desire, knows such practices to be as false as empty air; and refrains from displaying his actions, which he knows at best but cast to the winds.
