The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

पातोत्पातकराकाराः क्षीयन्ते कन्दुका इव ।
इतो गच्छन्ति नरकं ततः स्वर्गमिहैव च ॥ ४७ ॥

pātotpātakarākārāḥ kṣīyante kandukā iva |
ito gacchanti narakaṃ tataḥ svargamihaiva ca || 47 ||

They are tossed up and down like play balls in this world, some rising up to heaven, and others falling to hell torments while they are even here.
