The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कुतः किलास्याः शुद्धाया अविच्छिन्नामलाकृतेः ।
चन्द्रिकाया रुचः कोष्णाः कलङ्काः कलनाश्चितः ॥ १११ ॥

kutaḥ kilāsyāḥ śuddhāyā avicchinnāmalākṛteḥ |
candrikāyā rucaḥ koṣṇāḥ kalaṅkāḥ kalanāścitaḥ || 111 ||

The hot and foul fumes of fancy, fly afar from the pure light of reason, as the hazy mist of night, is dispersed by the bright beams of moon-light.
