The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.7.12

अचेत्यचित्स्वरूपं यत्तच्चासंभवनं विना ।
क्व स्वरूपोन्मुखत्वं हि केवलं चेत्यरोधतः ॥ १२ ॥

acetyacitsvarūpaṃ yattaccāsaṃbhavanaṃ vinā |
kva svarūponmukhatvaṃ hi kevalaṃ cetyarodhataḥ || 12 ||

How then is this perception to be effaced? How is it possible to have a longing after the unintelligible Intelligence, without suppression of our longing for the visibles? It is only to be effected by avoiding the external perceptions of the mind.
