The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.7.11

तस्य चेत्योन्मुखत्वं तु चेत्यासंभवनं विना ।
रोद्धुं न शक्यते दृश्यं चेत्यं शाम्यति वै कथम् ॥ ११ ॥

tasya cetyonmukhatvaṃ tu cetyāsaṃbhavanaṃ vinā |
roddhuṃ na śakyate dṛśyaṃ cetyaṃ śāmyati vai katham || 11 ||

The longing after perceptibles (Chetyas) does not cease, unless the perception of the visibles is effaced from the mind.
