The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तृष्णानदी सारतरप्रवाहग्रस्ताखिलानन्तपदार्थजाता ।
तटस्थसंतोषसुवृक्षमूलनिकाषदक्षा वहतीह लोके ॥ ५ ॥

tṛṣṇānadī sāratarapravāhagrastākhilānantapadārthajātā |
taṭasthasaṃtoṣasuvṛkṣamūlanikāṣadakṣā vahatīha loke || 5 ||

All living creatures are borne away by the stream of avarice, which upsets the tree of contentment growing on the bank and flows on for ever in this world.
