Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ममाश्रमः काश्यपपुत्र रम्यस्त्रियोजनं शैलमिमं परेण ।
तत्र स्वधर्मोऽनभिवादनं नो न चोदकं पाद्यमुपस्पृशामः ॥ ११ ॥
