Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ऋश्यशृङ्ग उवाच ।
फलानि पक्वानि ददानि तेऽहं भल्लातकान्यामलकानि चैव ।
परूषकानीङ्गुदधन्वनानि प्रियालानां कामकारं कुरुष्व ॥ १२ ॥

ṛśyaśṛṅga uvāca |
phalāni pakvāni dadāni te'haṃ bhallātakānyāmalakāni caiva |
parūṣakānīṅgudadhanvanāni priyālānāṃ kāmakāraṃ kuruṣva || 12 ||
