Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. देवयान्युवाच ।
राजायं नाहुषस्तात दुर्गे मे पाणिमग्रहीत् ।
नमस्ते देहि मामस्मै नान्यं लोके पतिं वृणे ॥ २९ ॥
