Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. गृहाण धारयेऽहं ते याचितं ते श्रुतं मया ।
न चेद्ग्रहीष्यसे राजञ्शपिष्ये त्वां न संशयः ॥ १०९ ॥
